Kevin Jenkins divides his time between advertising and fantasy illustration. He does fantasy because he loves the genre. Like most sf/fantasy fans, he believes that you can judge a book by its cover, to the extent that a bad illustration (or no illustration at all) can put you off buying it!
One of our first artists to work digitally, Kevin now uses a wide range of programs, from Painter to World Builder. Despite this, he can still make a painting look like a painting. See King and Queen of Swords, the second book of Tom Arden's Books of the Orokon. Digitally created but tonally the same as its hand-painted predeccessor.
Kevin is also one of our most flexible artists. Figures (Surrender None and Liar's Oath) landscapes (Sultan of the Moon and Stars and Reave the Just). Humour (Billy Bob in Game Covers). His work includes children's covers (Temmi and the Flying Bears) and work for Disney.
One of Kevin's best known works was giving the magic treatment to Sky's 10th Kingdom artwork, which was subequently used on posters, books and video covers.
