David Wyatt first cut his teeth doing artwork for the comic 2000AD. Since then his output has been prodigious - numerous covers for Scholastic including the artwork on Phillip Pullman's Aladdin. Lord of the Rings mug illustrations for Danbury Mint. The Modern Classics edition of The Hobbit. Covers for Larry Niven (Burning City), J V Jones (A Fortress of Grey Ice), Alan Garner (the Weirdstone trilogy). Harry Potter (Egmont UK). Diana Wynne Jones and many more.

Equally at home in both adult's and children's illustration, David is also a highly skilled linework artist (see the Linework page), combining computer skills with good old-fashioned painting.

His powerful use of light, texture and atmosphere with an instinctive feel for design makes David's work unmistakeable.

Notice the reflections on the knight's armour - torches from a Boschian hell - in The Nameless Day. A disturbing blend of redemption and damnation, all rolled up in one. Too strong for the company that commissioned it - Harper Collins UK - but opprtunely taken up by their Australian arm.
