Mark Salwowski

Mark is one of our most original artists, creating the startling Ian M. Banks covers as well as the haunting Heart Beast (Tanith Lee), the disturbing Blood Music (Greg Bear) and the iconic Cassini Division (Ken Macleod). The Ken Macleod cover was commissioned by Little Brown UK and also used by Tor in the U.S.

Before the new graphic Ian M Banks covers, there was the fully coloured version of The State of the Art, a wonderful study in mood and place. Check out also Axel (Bo Carpelan) for a different slant on mood and meditation.

On a lighter note, there is The Soccer Kid in Game Covers.

Mark has only recent changed to digital working (Look to Windward) after years of torment with airbursh masks. See also The Memory of Earth (Orson Scott Card) also digital.. As his work was pin sharp already, there is no obvious stylistic difference, unlike some artists who take time to change mediums.

Mark has also done covers for Analog and work for Cadburys and Abbey National.
